VŠE Sports Gala 2026

On Tuesday, March 31, 2026, the VŠE Sports Gala Evening 2026 took place at the Academic Club of the Prague University of Economics and Business. The event was traditionally organized by the VŠE Event Centre and was dedicated to celebrating outstanding sporting achievements and personalities who have long represented the university both in the Czech Republic and abroad.

The evening was filled with inspiration, recognition, and powerful stories demonstrating that combining studies at VŠE with top-level sport is not only possible, but also highly successful. Awards were presented to both current students and alumni whose performances contribute to the university’s strong reputation.

The highlight of the evening was the ceremonial induction of former student and volleyball representative Boris Perušič into the VŠE Hall of Fame. His sporting and personal journey serves as an inspiration for current and future generations of students.

Another important part of the evening was the announcement of the Athletes of the Year. The top award went to long-distance swimmer Martin Straka, who has competed at the Olympic Games in Paris as well as at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore. Second place was awarded to Barbora Dubská, a professional sport shooter, while third place went to Vojtěch Matějíček, who represents VŠE in canoeing.

The VŠE Information Centre also contributed to the event by preparing a special documentary highlighting the life and sporting career of Boris Perušič. The film offered guests a deeper insight into his journey to success and enriched the evening with a powerful story of determination and perseverance.
