From Life at VŠE – Summer Semester is in full swing

The summer semester of 2024/2025 is in full swing, so let’s take a look at the events that took place at the Prague University of Economics and Business. In the new episodes of our seriesFrom Life at VŠE”, you will find out how active student clubs are and which events you can participate in.

The summer semester kicked off with a lecture by the Investors‘ Club titled “Market Sentiment: The Invisible Hand of the Financial Market.” In the second week, the club hosted additional lectures, including one on the economy during the Trump administration and another titledBehind the Scenes of Annual Reports.” The Investors‘ Club also organized a workshop (“Unveiling the Basics of Qualified Investor Funds“) and a lecture (“Winning Mindset: Poker, Investments, and Life“). In the first week, Consulting Club 307 joined other clubs with their event, organizing a lecture calledConsulting Without Filters.” For more information about their activities, visit their Facebook page (Club 307) and Instagram (club_307).

At the beginning of the semester, the student club Studujeme FPH held its traditional textbook sale, where students could sell their old books or buy new ones from upper-year students. More information can be found on their Facebook (Studujeme FPH) and Instagram (studujemefph).

Another student club, Students for VŠE, organized a debate with Jana Jáčová, one of the most prominent accountants on Czech social media and the founder of the successful company UOL Účetnictví.

The VŠE Travelers’ Club also had an active start, offering a lecture for students interested in study abroad programs (“Erasmus Through the Eyes of the Travelers’ Club”) and another titledNine Months in Asia (Almost) Without Money.” Through engaging storytelling, participants could virtually visit a Turkish mosque and experience the atmosphere of India’s Golden Sikh Temple. The SpoluPRACUJEME student club hosted interesting lectures, including “Jan KoscelanskýFrom VŠE to the Global AI Tech Business” and “How to Make a Billion (Twice).” Find more details on their Facebook (SpoluPRACUJEME) and Instagram (spolupracujeme).

The 4FIS student club continued its tradition by hosting its Pub Quiz, where students could test their knowledge and win great prizes. To stay updated on 4FIS events, follow them on Instagram (4fisclub).

The CUFR (Club of Tourism Students) organized a lecture calledAnimation Point,” featuring guest speaker Viktor Fodor, founder of Animation Point. More details about their events can be found on Facebook (CUFR) and Instagram (cufr.vse).

The Young Managers‘ Club held two different lectures: one focused on improving techniques for using Apple products, and the other titledHow to Prepare for the Future with AI and What Will Be Key in the Job Market?” For more information about their events, follow their Facebook (Klub mladých manažerů) and Instagram (kmm_vse).

The Tax Club hosted a workshop-lecture hybrid, where students had the opportunity to fill out their tax returns with the help of experienced professionals. More details on their events can be found on Instagram (klubdanaru) and Facebook (Klub daňařů).
