From life at VŠE, exams are around the corner
The Christmas holidays ended, and most of us are already looking forward to the beginning of the new year. However, for the VŠE students, the new year does not only represent New Year’s Eve celebrations but also the start of the exam period. Before this year comes to an end, let’s recall what has been happening at VŠE in the recent weeks of classes.
The Young Managers Club organized a fascinating lecture titled: “Secrets Revealed: What SEO and PPC Can Do for Your Business?” The lecture was primarily aimed at students who have chosen a career path related to entrepreneurship and need advice on their online marketing. Experts from the eVisions marketing agency explained how to use paid advertising (PPC) for a quick online boost or optimization for search engines (SEO) for organic growth on Google. (kmm_vse)
Another lecture that took place at VŠE was titled: “37 Cars and Still Alive or How to Travel Europe Almost for Free.” It was organized by the VŠE Travelers Club. In addition to this lecture, the VŠE Travelers Club also organized an event called: “Sunrise on Ještěd,” where they conquered the peak of Ještěd in the early morning hours. (klubcestovateluvse)
Throughout the whole semester, the 4FIS student association organized many events, including a Christmas quiz held at the Academic Club at VŠE. Participants enjoyed a relaxed evening full of fun, competition, and witty questions in the true Christmas atmosphere. (4fisclub)
The Tax Club also did not fall behind and decided to organize a lecture with a unique title: “Taxation of Sins.” The main topic was the taxation of “sinful activities” (e.g., gambling or alcohol). The lecture also focused on possible trends in taxation and touched on the issue of taxing sweetened beverages. (klubdanaru)
The Investors Club organized five different lectures covering topics such as inflation (global trends and Czech reality), investment in the automotive industry, and much more. Additionally, Gabriel Szuma and Michal Prause, shared their experiences specifically in a lecture titled: “How to Get to a Prestigious Foreign University? Experiences from MIT and Oxford.” As part of their other event, they discussed the sale of a company on the Prague Stock Exchange and related topics. (ki_praha)
Lastly, the Junior Diplomat Initiative student organization organized a captivating debate. The debate was titled: “Debating the Arctic’s Frozen Future,” and the main guests were the Ambassador of Canada to the Czech Republic (H.E. Emily McLaughlin) and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to the Czech Republic (H.E. Søren Kelstrup). (juniordiplomatinitiative)
We hope you found time to attend at least one of these events during the last weeks of classes, and we wish you the best of luck in the upcoming exam period.
We wish you a beautiful new year and success at exams!
