Debate of the candidates for the President of the Republic

On Wednesday, November 9, 2022, the Debate of the candidates for the President of the Republic took place in the Vencovskeho auditorium. The student association Club of Young Political Scientists came up with the idea for the event and, in cooperation with the PR department and the Event Center of the University of Economics, realized the entire event.

Danuše Nerudová, Pavel Fischer, Marek Hilšer, Karel Janeček and Josef Středula accepted the invitation to discuss economic topics. The whole debate was moderated by Emma Smetana together with the rector of the Prague University of Economics and Business Petr Dvořák. During the debate, the candidates had the opportunity to express their opinion on current economic topics, such as the adoption of the euro, the charging of study fees at universities and the issue of pensions. Around 500 students and academic staff watched the whole event in a full Vencovskeho auditorium, while the debate was also broadcast live on the platforms of Hospodářské noviny and ČTK.
