International day of university sport

On Friday September 17th at the campus of Prague University of Economics and Business an event in the celebration of the International day of university sport was held and organized by VICTORIA University sporting centre – organizational part of the Ministry of education, youth and sports.

The event was attended by 21 universities and over 200 students participating in the UNIS scholarship programme, which aims to support dual careers of university sportsmen. The grand opening of the event was handled by the Minister of Education Ing. Robert Plaga, PhD. and the rector of VŠE prof. Ing. Hana Machková, CSc. The host of the event was the successful figure skater Bc. Tomáš Verner and among the presenters was along others also the famous coach and strategist Ing. Jan Mühlfeit.

The fair at which each university presented its programs for talented students from sports-oriented high schools was held in the atrium of VŠE Rajska Building. Lectures about sports, psychology and working with media were held in lecture halls RB 101, RB 207 to RB 2013 as part of the accompanying programme.

The Events Centre secured the personnel, helped organizers with planning of the event and ensured smooth running of the whole event.

We believe we will be seeing VICTORIA VSC representatives again soon on another occasion.
