The Prague University of Economics and Business opens its doors every year to all those interested in studying. Information about studies and student life at VŠE is provided to interested parties by representatives of all six faculties, professional workplaces and current students.
As part of the Open House Day of all faculties, high school students and other students interested in studying have the opportunity to learn about almost 30 study programs at once. They can ask questions of current students, get to know the student organizations that operate at VŠE, workplaces that provide professional counseling or student trips abroad, or tour the entire school campus.
On June 2 and 3, 2022, the 166th meeting of the Plenum of the Czech Conference of Rectors and a joint meeting of Czech and Slovak rectors, organized by the Event Center, took place at the Prague University of Economics and Business. Approximately 60 rectors discussed the current problems of Czech and Slovak education. The then Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Petr Gazdík, Chairman of the National Accreditation Office Ivan Barančík and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Martin Smolek also took part in the conference.
The job fair ŠANCE has been a tradition at the Prague University of Economics amd Business for many years. From the spring of 2021, the fair takes place in two variants – face-to-face and now also online. The face-to-face fair takes place on the premises of the University of Economics in Prague, specifically in the atrium of the Rajská building. By default, the fair is held twice a year (in April and October), on 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Traditionally, a different composition of companies and institutions participates every day, so participants (as well as companies) can gain a lot of valuable contacts during the entire duration of the fair. A rich accompanying program and competitions for valuable prizes are also prepared for visitors to the fair.
The virtual fair is held once a year (at the beginning of February) and takes place on a special 3D platform. You can imagine the virtual fair as a computer game, where each participant and exhibitor moves in the virtual world using their character (avatar). Communication takes place with the help of a webcam and a microphone – both are automatically started after the visitor enters the virtual stand with the help of his avatar. The trade fair is very similar to the way you know it in person, but thanks to the online platform, there is no need to leave your premises and there are many other advantages.
František Šalanda
I’ve studied the Faculty of Management at the Prague University of Economics and Business. With my saxophone show, that I do on a professional level, I competed in a Talent show and won second place. Moreover, I performed at the VŠE Sports day. Generally, I perform as a DJ and a saxophonist under the pseudonym SAXOFRANCIS. I have put out three songs and played for example at Croatian Beach named Zrće or in Ibiza. I graduated from musical Conservatoire and am also a Doctor of medicine.
Marika Postlerová
I‘ve graduated from the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics. I competed in the VŠE Talent show, where I finished in fourth place. Since I was young, I have always put a lot of effort into singing. I started on the classical opera and moved on to different genres of music later in age. From the age 17 and forward I have started to sing in bands of different genres (rock, pop, blues, jazz, swing, country, etc.). I perform with a Prague hard rock band called Red Baron Band, which plays authors music. Moreover, I perform covers with either the whole band, with the guitarist, or by myself with background music.
Simona Voříšková
Simona graduated from the Prague Conservatoire and has been playing the harp for almost 20 years. She and her royal music instrument, perform not only solo, but also with other fascinating musical instruments. Moreover, she hosts symphonic orchestras. Her repertoire is very rich and diverse. She not only plays classical music, but also adapted pop songs, today’s music, film music and background music. The music instrument harp is as good for solo concerts, as it is good as a background music for ceremonial occasions like for example banquets, birthdays, opening events and so many more.
Mai Nguyen
I am currently in my second year of bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Business Administration. Music has always been a part of me, doesn’t matter if I’m playing a musical instrument, singing, or just listening to music. At the beginning, in my primary education, I have sung in a choir and then moved on to do solos. Furthermore, I have performed at many different occasions like for example at a graduation party, VŠE Talent show, at weddings, parties or even smaller concerts.
Lucie Křehlíková
Lucie graduated at the Faculty of International Relations and has been dancing since a very young age. Now she has dancing as a part-time job, teaching, and also performing. She performs mainly choreographed dances of oriental show. In the VŠE Talent show, she took the fourth place and made the whole Lucerna dance.
Olga Kalinová

Me and my partner have received many awards, the most important one to this date is the title vice-champions of the Czech Republic Showdance. Furthermore, in 2014 we have taken place in the VŠE Talent show and have won first place for our Waltz show to the song Je suis malade! by Lary Fabien. We have the experience of doing shows as well as just demonstrating standard dances.
Kateřina Romanova
I have graduated from the Faculty of Managament in Jindřichův Hradec and have been pursuing my professional career in scenic dance since I was young. In the end, my passion became pole dancing. Couple of my achievements are fourth place in the international competition called Pole Battle League and first place at the VŠE Talent show 2019.
Filip Dohnal
I’m currently studying second year of master’s degree at the Faculty of Economics. I have been doing ballroom dancing competitively since around 16 years old. Not only the classical dances, but also Latin dances. In Latin dances I have an international dancing grade and in classical dancing I have an A grade. I have been pursuing teaching dancing and trainer ship for over 6 years. At VŠE in cooperation with “All arts club” I also organize dancing nights and have been organizing these evenings for around 5 years. Other than that, I have a couple of performances each year at different social events like for example balls, celebrations and so on. For those events, I am capable of combining my performance with the teaching of participants.
